Nice, i'd forgotten all about this so will need to give them a call today. Was there anything specifically you had to say or did you just call and ask for a refund on the payment charges?

I wrote to them and complained that their previous £5 charges were in breach of Consumer Rights (Payment Surcharge) Regulations 2012 which came into effect in April 2013 and forbid companies charging more than the true cost of taking payment, and asked for a refund of £5 - £0.45 for each month I hadn't paid by direct debit since the new regulations came into effect.

i was looking for something that i couldt find on the virginmedia forums site the other day and somebody had commented on this think virgins reply went along the lines you only get it cheaper only if you update your package/change along them lines..
