Does that mean we will need two superhubs?
Hmm wonder is going to pay for those...unless it's part of the new Tivo costing?

you could hazard a guess involving streaming to other devices and it needs something more beefy than its current 10mb
or even all in one, and negate the need for a dedicated 2nd hub

Couldn't the superhub (new white one) do the same job?
I've only had mine a few months lol - It seems more stable than the old black one

I read the rumour update as integrated into TIVO so you only need one device to service all needs but its all pure speculation here based on what the rumour says

Can I ask MB does that mean the new boxes now put back till 2017, are the superhubs integrated into the box or do you need extra super hubs for each box

To say they have plenty of money, is ridiculous. IMHO, It is propagated by people who's ultimate aim is to privatise the BBC. Given that you want the BBC to be a subscription service, I guess that would make you one of them.
Fortunately, the vast majority of the public feedback, prior to the White Paper disagreed with you, which is why we have the licence fee extended for at least eleven years.
|
The BBC were awash with money because of the certainty and amount of income that they were receiving from the licence fee, I don't think many seriously doubt this. My point was that the new funding arrangements have not decimated Auntie and she has quite a sufficient amount to keep going very nicely, thank you.
It is the Government who raised the prospect of a subscription to replace the licence fee. This would ensure that only those who wanted to access BBC programmes would have to pay for them. Why is that so crazy in your book?

Exactly. And the vast majority of the public said we don't want that.
The public have overruled the political dogma of the Tory government, who's desire is to privatise the BBC, to keep their mate Rupert sweet.

No they haven't! It just wasn't technically feasible. This will be back on the agenda next time around.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin Media TV (2016) Vol 2
In the latest polls the vast majority are totally against the BBC ever going to subscription and mark my words if they were ever to try to go down that road then they will find considerable discontent and unhappiness from the public and even within their own party there would be quite a outrage from what l hear if they ever tried to go down that route.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin Media TV (2016) Vol 2
It's a hollow victory. We can still opt out of paying the BBC tax as it's not been put into the council precept as some have advocated.
We've not paid this tax for over ten years and will not pay ever again.
More fool you for stumping up.
