Re: Coming Soon to Virgin Media TV (2016)
When the new TiVo box launches will this include Virgin or will virgin be the only company not allowed
The deal will cover a variety of Sky services, from subscription channels such as Sky Movies and Sky Cinema, to transactional services such as Sky Story and Sky Select, and finally streaming services such as Now TV and Sky Online.
In other words, anywhere you can currently watch a movie on Sky will be covered by this deal. As for UHD, Sky promises it will be switching on 4K for Q customers this Summer.

Two new Tivos to be launched and an expanding network and people are worrying about hypotheticals! And a month's free football for everyone in the UK with Euro 2016 starting in a couple of months. Let's see what the year has in store before getting too negative about deals that haven't even been discussed yet.

I'd say more realistic , whilst you can never say never I'd be amazed if any of Sky's 4K content arrives on anything other than its own platform.

Some analysists say that 4k is viewed merely as a stepping stone to 8k, with many companies bypassing it altogether.
In March 2014 VM were in "wait and see mode" to see if 4k would be popular enough to be worth investing in.

People need to start reserving a full wall for their TVs then, given that experts say that 4k, at normal viewing distance gives no significant picture quality unless the 4k TV is at least a 65" set.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin Media TV (2016)
Yep, I think that's the way it's going.
With 8k supposed to be the maximum that the human eye can appreciate, it wouldn't surprise me if TV technology then went holographic.

I would be surprised if the new Tivo did not have 4K capability.
If so, it stands to reason that we will have 4K content, just maybe not courtesy of Sky.
