Whilst I understand these organisations want to make money they also need to think of promotion of the game , not everybody can afford pay TV.
 | It will interesting to see how this develops. If BT successfully bid for ITV (recently rumoured to be a target for them in next 2 years) then you could see a very different strategy going forward with them showcasing selected BT Sport content on ITV.

At the time of wining the CL rights BT were also looking at biding for CH5 I think that's probably the original thought for where to show the fta games.

Has anyone heard any news about the BT Sports contract renewal with VM?
I'm sure the current deal that includes it in XL TV was for 3 years which will be up at the end of this season.

 | Yes, that'll be interesting, although I can't see BT being happy if they lost income from losing the existing wholesale arrangements. BT are relying heavily on the income they receive to pay the small fortune they need to find for the privilege of carrying these Premier league matches.

I think VM are in a reasonable bargaining position here.

Don't know if any other member has noticed a BTSport trick that's just come out.
Wanted to watch the Spurs game recently, and they have stated that it is on BT Sport Stream.

Well we went onto it and its provided by Bet 365 and cost £5.00 and is a rip off.

You can watch the game on the computer - but on a small screen.

 Just beware

Any idea of the length of the new deal? I don't recall this being mentioned at the time.

Just want to make sure there'll be no surprise extra costs next season

Step into the ring with STV Glasgow and STV Edinburgh for STV Fight Night on March 18 at 10pm. Commonwealth gold medalist Charlie Flynn and upcoming talent Joe Ham will both fight in the television programme which will broadcast live from Glasgow Hotel.
Freeview 23, Virgin 159, Sky 117 or watch from anywhere in the UK on the STV Player here:
http://player.stv.tv/live/glasgow/
Fairly small show but 2 promising young boxers being featured. More free boxing on TV
