BBC3 part time service on VM after going 'online'?

Post 'closure', BBC3 will continue for a few hours in the early hours of the morning for the immediate future.

This looks to be happening on satellite and Freeview; can someone please check if VM are carrying this feed?

The TiVo epg just shows a message stating that BBC 3 has moved online now.

Don't know if anything is actually broadcast.

Thanks.

Apparently, this isn't showing on Digi Guide either and the BBC website itself wasn't showing these programmes until the other day.

I believe they're showing extended trailers for the next few weeks.

Yes, outside the hours of limited programming, they are now showing a promotional loop to advertise the online service (this was ordered by the BBC Trust).

Re: BBC3 part time service on VM after going 'online'?

I just had a look at the Freesat EPG - they're showing stuff from 1am to 4am.

I can't think why that would be, unless there is some requirement to use their space in the mux or else lose it.

IIRC in a month or so, BBC3's slot is due to give way to extended hours for CBBC.

I have long suspected that what CBBC broadcasts in those extra hours will look surprisingly similar to what BBC3 used to show, pre-watershed. In fact I'd put money on there being Dr Who repeats in that schedule somewhere.

I wonder what they will broadcast on that stream from 9pm to 6am each night. They don't seem to go in for the test card these days.

Test card is better than a lot of their output anyway.
