Angry Phone not working again

I have had a number of issues with my phone, personally I do not need it and would prefer not to have to fork out for the line rental, clearly my broadband will work adequately without as it has been doing for the last 36 hours and every other time there has been a service outage on the land line over the last few months.

It is my elderly mum who needs it, she has a panic button connected to a monitoring station via the phone, which is just squawking away "The line is disconnected", in the last 3 months my mum has collapsed twice and needed help.

It went off yesterday mourning (Monday), I was out most of the day and was hoping it would come back on on it own as has done on other occasions, this morning it was still off, call the call centre at 8:15, which I assume was in Mumbai as I could barely understand the the guy the other end, anyway I persevered 14Mins 33secs, then he disconnected to test the line and called me back and another 28mins 34secs, first the earliest date fore an engineer was Friday afternoon, this is just totally unacceptable, explaining my mothers predicament an the fact that we needed the phone fixed sooner, he said something about an emergency 4 hour response, OK that's what we need and he then spent a lot of time filling out forms, I was getting the impression he was hoping I would put the phone down on him, anyway I was sure in the end the guy did say we would have an engineer sort it out this morning.

Guess what, no engineer called and the phone still not working, anyone got a number of anyone in the UK I can call to get this sorted?

Re: Phone not working again

If it's an outage it will be picked up by the network monitoring team. If it's a individual line fault it would need to be reported, but as a lifeline customer a 4 hour fix should be in place, so make sure that gets added to the account.

You need to register your mum as a lifeline customer

Re: Phone not working again

Had a lot of problems last year, it was a intermittent fault, had an engineer out twice and spoke to a call centre at least 3 times on the first instance I had to wait a 2 or 3 days and the second I think the engineer came the next day, but I have explained on every call and to every engineer the importance of the line, until yesterday nobody has ever mentioned being able to register for a priority service.

Can not find this service... I select 1 for TV/BB/phone then enter my home phone number, then get a message "An engineer is booked... to find out when please press 1" so I press 1 and get "OK we are going test your line now..."

I am getting so angry now I do not think I could talk to any one at virgin without losing it...

Re: Phone not working again

"thinking of leaving us"

finally got through... got an engineer coming tomorrow, hopefully.

Seems they cancelled the call for yesterday morning and did not contact me

still very annoyed and I am certainly looking at other service provenders hopefully ones without overseas call centres.
