Finally called for a deal

I was on the old premier package still so the wife finally got around to calling VM..

Managed to get a deal with them.

Old package was £86 a month inc line rental

XL tv, XXL BB and M phone with a 500gig Tivo, extra box but was inc in price and caller ID and that was also inc in price.

New deal as above

But now have Sky movies (no HD) and 200mb BB

£56 inc line rental for 9 months and £76 after (they didn't say if this deal inc the £4 rise coming next month) but still saving either way.

So happy with what I have now

Re: Finally called for a deal

Not when I called, explained what I wanted and said I was looking to save money on the package because even though it's exactly what I wanted the price rise meant that savings would need to be made. Said hold for a minute and came back after 3 and offered a new deal that needs to be evaluated in September.

Wife went right through to retentions all was hassle free they even said call back after 9 months and see what other deals they have going. So go for it they seem to be making it easy atm

Re: Finally called for a deal

They probably will until February when the prices go up. Like the deals or not, I'm sure Virgin would rather give deals to customers to keep them rather than have the customers take business to SKY or BT.

Re: Finally called for a deal

You should always be trying to get a better deal,

Virginmedias will have worked out the cost of gaining new customer, with leaflets, shops, advertising, mailing, salesmen, sponsorships, new customer deals etc ect.

It's often much cheaper to keep an exsisting customer than it is to win a new one, but they can also rely on a high percentage of customers who just won't leave.

It's actually usually around February/March when the big deals arrive. This is because they will announce yearly figures in April so if churn is high they will throw out the crazy 12 months half price + £100 credit+ free install type deals to get new customers on the books.
