Bieber Beaten By NHS Choir To Christmas No 1
http://news.sky.com/story/1612234/bi...christmas-no-1
I know its Xmas day, and everyone is probably sleeping everything off in front of the TV.
I think this win for the NHS Choir has made Xmas Day even better. Its fantastic news.
The NHS is a fantastic service run by staff that are dedicated to the job
Well Done

Out of 700,000 NHS staff all of them would be a big ask! I think you can say a higher percentage are motivated by trying to help people than money compared to other jobs. If nurses ever went on strike we'd be stuffed. Given the pathetic rates of pay, lack of respect and abuse they get we can be greatful they care about patients too much. However as with everyone there are limits, many are leaving, we're having to import those bleeding immigrants from agencies at massive cost to keep thing afloat. The NHS is be deliberately run into crisis so Dave can move his private sector mates in - still isn't going to help if there aren't nurses though, which they don't seem to realise.

Well I suppose its fantastic for those that recorded it, but it didnt really make my xmas day better.
Personally I got quite bored of either the X-Factor winner or some charity record being the 'xmas' number one, and largely lost interest. I saw it on TOTP yesterday and dont happen to think its a particularly good, IMO its killing a good song and would not get near the charts were it not for the current junior doctors dispute and its charity links (it was recorded over three years ago).

Bieber also tweeted his 70 million followers telling them to buy the NHS nurses song instead of his.

I think you will find if it's urgent, you will be seen quickly.
If it's minor/non-urgent, it may take a little longer...

Re: Bieber Beaten By NHS Choir To Christmas No 1
Well this is what shocked me. On Xmas Eve, l had to take my mother in law to hospital - she is 86.
The GP advised her to go to A&E, as she had an inlflammed knee, which she couldn't bend.
I attended A&E and was totally shocked at the people there, that could have gone to there own GP.
There was a young 6 year old child there running round and kicking a ball. The Doctor called the childs name, and the mum got up picked up the child and the doctor said was it the child. The mum said yes, and a nurse in blue uniform.
Asked what was wrong, the mum said he child had a sore throat. The doctor said, go to your GP. The mum said OK and went.
This is a total misuse of this great service.
I don't think you can blame GPs for this. The hospital have a triage Nurse, and that Nurse should have said either Hospital treatment or GP full stop.
My mother in law was seen, and was told that she had strained the ligaments in her knee, and she needed a wheelchair and plenty of ice, and painkillers.
The surgery that l go to has THREE GPs on duty everyday. So there is no excuse. All it is that people cannot wait, so they go straight to the nearest A&E

Re: Bieber Beaten By NHS Choir To Christmas No 1
Arthur you can't generalise things like this. Some GPs are far too busy and people can't get appointments. Especially on Christmas Eve! There may be 3 GPs but how many people are registered there? You may still have to wait days to manage to get an appointment!
Also when it comes to sick children some people panic and go to hospital as they will get seen faster than trying to get a GP appointment. Some hospitals have out of hours clinics rather than A&E.
Anyway lets get back on topic now.

I wish this was true, when i had my stroke i was taken in ambulanse, i was then put in a queue of beds, i then collapsed in the queue when asked to stand and was unconcious and my son said all in all it took nearly 3hours to be seen.
This was April 2014.
