00800 number
Hi all
I have a number i need to ring, it starts with 008000 which i believe is an international "freephone" number.
Does anyone know for certain if this would be free from a VM landline.
I'm on "weekend" free calls tariff, so would it be free at all times (assuming its free at all).
Thanks

Re: 00800 number
After considerable effort I found the booklet that VM uses to list its call charges and it gives 08000 as free. I have put the address below.

Re: 00800 number
Perhaps it would be a good idea to have a look HERE before you ring the number.

Thanks for the input guys. The number i'm ringing is definitely genuine, it's Apple support and i got it off an apple CS guy who was helping me today...however knowing Apple i'm bothered there will be a cost associated with it, it's a strange number bearing in mind the person i spoke to had a slight North East accent, though i supposee this doesn't guarantee he's based in UK. However looking at the info Arcimedes kindly provided it looks like it is indeed free. Thanks again all.

Re: 00800 number
Why don't you post the full number so that others can check for you?
Apple tech support is 0800 107 6285

Yes the number you quote above is the number I originally rang to speak to them. I spoke to lady with an irish accent then put through to 2nd level tech with a north east accent. The number the guy gave me was to contact him directly, i don't mind posting the number but i won't post his extension which he also gave me.
00800 2775 2775

Just to add that the issue I had was my apple id being stolen. The guy I spoke to was either 100% genuine or is a hacking genius who had control over the apple database and could send out verification codes to my phone and e-mail address and knew all my personal details. He was extremely helpful to the point of giving me a personal contact number if i had any further problems. I was actually very impressed (for once) with Apple.

Re: 00800 number
That is indeed the International free phone number for Apple. Pity you didn't post it at the begining. Would've saved a lot of time.

Re: 00800 number
Some very interesting ? information was posted most of which was about incoming calls. But never let the original question being answered spoil a good argument ( sorry discussion)
