Displaying 'Favourites' in Chrome
I've always used IE and love the layout, especially accessing the favourites menu. For a while now my IE11 has been slow and unreliable so I've been trying Chrome which is much faster but I can't find a way to display my favourites in the way I'd like (as in IE). I'm assuming this can't be done but is there a way I can access my favourites in Chrome without having to click on several options every time I want to do so. I have a few listed horizontally in a bookmarks bar but don't like that layout much and find it awkward to use.

Re: Displaying 'Favourites' in Chrome
Chrome has the same type of bookmark bar as IE. Use that for your favourites. (Shift+CTRL+b).

Re: Displaying 'Favourites' in Chrome
Thanks. Yes is does have a 'favourites/bookmarks bar' which I do use but IE has the facility to have all your favourites displayed permanently on the left hand margin of the screen and it is this feature that I love so much. In IE I just have to click on the relevant folder or scroll up/down the list to find the entry I want.

Re: Displaying 'Favourites' in Chrome
Not sure what you mean, here is my chrome, it's literally a mouse click to get to any favourite I have.

Re: Displaying 'Favourites' in Chrome
Yes I can get that but I can't make it remain on the screen whereas in IE it can be set to be visible all the time out of the way on the left side of the screen.
It's no big deal really but its' a feature I use a great deal so is very convenient.

Re: Displaying 'Favourites' in Chrome
I tend to use the toolbar under the url bar for my most used ones (holds 16+ or so)
Then for all else I can access in probably about 0.5 seconds longer than you. I can live with that.
Interestingly I tend to simply type in the first few chars straight in the url bar these days to bring up most things I need. I do have I.E & ff as secondary browsers but hardly ever use them.

Re: Displaying 'Favourites' in Chrome
It's probably down to me - I tend to work unconventionally when it comes to computers and get used to my own way of doing things. I prefer the layout of IE for my usage but Chrome is much faster so I'll probably have to compromise.

I also use the favourites bar under the URL bar, and Osem it is just a case of getting used to something different, lets face it IE won't be around for ever now EDGE is available on Windows 10.

Edge isn't ready yet but i think it will turn into a good browser eventually.

Re: Displaying 'Favourites' in Chrome
I'm not that bad really. Using Win 8.1 on this laptop and Win 7 on my All-in-One desktop. I guess I value familiarity and don't like fixing things which aren't really broken. I'm not really into lots of apps and synching everything between multiple devices. In W8.1 I rarely bother with the app tiles to do anything. I'm not sure that upgrading to Win10 is worth it but I'll wait and see.
The IE issue I'm having is annoying enough however to force me to try an alternative so that's what I'll do.

Re: Displaying 'Favourites' in Chrome
I have only about half a dozen sites I visit regularly but do access my favourites quite a lot every day.

Re: Displaying 'Favourites' in Chrome
How're you getting on with Chrome and your bookmarks?
I have found Opera to display the bookmarks how you want them, so that maybe to your liking?
