With competition getting hotter and hotter there is no way any company would be able to shrug their shoulders and just carry on regardless Vince as they will simply lose customers to their rivals.

Agree with Vince that the XL pack will NOT go down by one penny with BT sport out of it but I think it will remain in there with or without Europe which may come at a premium (as most things to do with Europe do!).....

				F1 ownership likely to chamge

I wonder if the likely change of ownership could see a future shift on F1 rights to companies aligned to Qatari interests and away from Sky Sports?http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/for...-5bn-deal.html |

			Hello there
Have signed up this morning after browsing the forum over the past few months.

I'd like to get peoples opinion on whether beIN Sports will launch in the UK in the near future? Reason I ask this is because they are expanding over Europe (Spain & Turkey) after launching in North America and Australia.

Also I have been in contact with sports media people over twitter and a couple are certain they will launch in the UK as they now have offices based in london.

 | Well there was a rumour that BeIn Sports were 'the other bidder' when the last PL rights were up for grabs. The only way they would launch here is if they got the rights to some decent sports, Sky and BT have those tied up for a few years yet. Sky have most of the streaming rights for this country as well.

I can't see it happening TBH, i just think the sports rights in this country are just to expensive for a 3rd player to come in.

Could it be a case of investing in a sports network (Sky, Premier Sports or BT) like the way BT did to ESPN?

Espn where looking for an exit strategy in The UK but still had some decent rights in the bag, BT came along just at the right time for them, I don't see Sky and BT taking on partners.

Interesting read Den - Shame when It boils down to money.,
Personally I doubt anyone will beat the BBC for its coverage of the last Olympics - every single sport shown live and all with zero advertising.

Eurosport has an ad break every few minutes at the best of times !

Yes its a shame that we are getting into a situation where sport will totally disappear from FTA platforms.

I know peole don`t like adverts but it is the only way forward as far as I`m concerned. The BBC has been `freeloadng` for far to long now. I rarely ever agree with this government or it`s MP`S but I`m totally behind them on their call for the licence fee being scrapped.
