YouTube app?
For about 1-2 months I keep getting a message coming up that there are problems before it loads. Until a week or so ago it still worked fine despite this.
Not it doesn't even load! I just get a yellow like cross under the youtube logo and it never fully loads.
Does anyone else have this problem?
Do you know if it will be corrected?
How do I resolve this?
I use the app a lot... I love it...and it's one of the main reason I opted for TiVo over Sky. If this app wasn't available anymore I'd seriously consider a different option.

Re: YouTube app?
It's something to do with Google changing the Youtube servers.

Yes, they have updated some of the servers in a way which which isn't compatible with the TiVo client application. Steps are being taken to avoid TiVos getting routed to the problem servers, so keep trying it daily until it starts working again.

Re: YouTube app?
Funny that Virgin have kept quiet on this subject,i.e haven`t seen anything on the website or emailed customers about it. I doubt there`s any discount coming our way either

There numbers probably show that not a lot of people use Youtube via the Tivo

In the OP's own words, "For about 1-2 months I keep getting a message coming up that there are problems". Not what I'd call keeping quiet.

There's a sticky post on the VM forums about it as well.

What I meant was emailing customers about the issue or even mentioning it in the weekly email I get telling me `how lucky I am to have all these shows provided to me by virgin media!

Surely it's better to send the message to people who actually use YouTube at the time they are trying to use it, rather than spamming everyone with a message they will probably ignore or have forgetten by the time they try to use YT?

VM can't predict who will be affected, because it depends on which YouTube server you happen to get routed to. So the message has to be displayed for everyone using YT, just in case.

The message only said You Tube was unavailable,no explanation about Virgin being aware of the issue and were working on it. Reading the message on screen could of simply meant a problem on my Tivo box, hence the reason my partner phoned virgin to enquire

The message didn`t say the problem was a national one rather than just my tivo box, which is what I was trying to say

Re: YouTube app?
I think Virgin have been reasonable in alerting us to the YouTube problem, but I don't know why they don't make more use of the messaging section on the TiVo.

Re: YouTube app?
I've had the 'T with a x through it' symbol for well over a week now. I use the Tivo version because Tivo audio goes through my sound system. Surely this should be fixed by now?
