Slow Netflix app

I had Netflix some time ago and recently restated my subscription. Before a ran it through my PS3 without any problems. Now through the Tivo box it is extremely slow it can that 3 - 4 minutes for it to start up, but ok when up and running.

I'm I doing something wrong is there some settings that need changing? If it stays like this I may as well unsubscribe.

Thanks for reading, any suggestions would be welcome.

Re: Slow Netflix app

Try rebooting the box. Start-up time should be about a minute.

ps. Welcome to the forum!

I agree with you mate, it's crap, you would think that the TiVo would be quicker since it's so called improvements, but it aint, it just got a not so nice colour change.....

Re: Slow Netflix app

Thank you for your replies. I don't have a smart TV but if I did, would it be quicker through the TV.

It'd probably be quicker through any streaming device mate, the TiVo app is notoriously slow. You'd probably be better using your PS3.

Re: Slow Netflix app

Its slow to startup but then afterwards its fine and as a bonus it doesn't hog your broadband while streaming allowing the rest of the family get on and use the internet at full speed

it's just started in just less than a minute for me; 45 seconds the second time.

I really don't know what you're on about. Of course there are devices that are faster, but for some, there is the big convenience of not having to buy a second box just for Netflix.

If you can't wait a single minute for Netflix, then you must lead a very busy life

Try reading the comments of all the other posters on this thread then you might see what they are on about ... looking at the consensus you are in the minority.

Oh and by the way my netflix takes 3-4 mins to start up .... its quite slow

But to call it a 'It's a pile of poo' is just ridiculous.

Have you tried calling faults about the slow startup that you are getting? Not sure how helpful that would be, but at least it gets registered as a complaint.
