Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2015)
I personally have no interest in HD channels so if i could reduce the XL package by a fiver and just have SD i'd be happy. Again its just personal preference on the XL. Some other channels i'd be happy to have removed if it meant saving money. But we all have something we like on XL which is why we're subscribed.
Lets face it if bt sport is removed we're not going to have money taken off the XL price. Its going to either stay the same or keep going up. There will never be a price cut.
They may try to get sky atlantic instead and i wouldnt have any interest in that. all preference people lets remember

Yes, Vince, but they could put a package of other channels with Atlantic and people would be saying that's a good deal.
At the moment, XL customers who don't watch sport are not getting such a good deal at all.

No interest in HD channels OMG...you deserve a black and white tele for that comment
What's the point of having a HD tele if you not going to get the most out of it. We should all embrace HD to make it standard. SD picture is just terrible!! lol

I've got my eyes on a 4K tele, but I will have to wait a bit.
LG, 55" Curved, 3D, Smart, 4K with OLED screen - £3,700.00, the mrs won't let me have it
But to be honest, nothing wrong with my one at the moment lol, I just wanted a 4K tele haha
And you never know, VM and BT may come to a deal in the future over the BT Sport 4K channel...I'm hoping anyway.

So you think VM will just pocket the saving? It'd cause a riot on these forums!

Yeah that's right...I think Tivo might be close to launching one, but don't know how long it will be until VM will be ready to push them out.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2015)
Personally I would like to see all HD channels in the most basic package now. Lets face it, most new TV's sold these days are HD ready ...

Didn't I read a rumour on Cable Forum that Virgin Media might be rolling out a new TiVo box later this year?

I agree With the amount of HD teles around and with people buying new ones everyday, there is no need to section off the channels and lump them into the XL package. I know VM want us to pay more, but if we do get the BT Sports channels I don't see why they couldn't shift the HD channels into the lower packs.
First BT Sports.....next Sky Atlantic mwahahaaha

That would kind of confirm what I read in different places too.
I know the new 4K enabled boxes will cost us more to have them installed and probably a higher monthly fee than the Tivo, but it will be good to see VM keeping up with the technology that is becoming available...and with their bb speeds, VM should have no problem running 4k netflix from their new boxes
It was also give the customers more choice of what box they would like.

We was told early this week "expect a new TIVO box towards the end of the year." by our sources.

But the big question is will it still be a clunky mess like the current tivo?
