If Virgin Media did keep the idea of ntl (Going after channels right away) I count 50+ more channels would be broadcasting on Virgin Media right now.
But the bosses want for Telewest idea of working (Going after channels when broadcasts deal for up).
Maybe Virgin will reuse the money save if BT Sports goes "add on channel" to go after more channels from Universal, Sky, Viacom and Sony or give us Premier Sports on XL.

When Digital TV Started on Telewest in my area only 75 channels was broadcasting.
-Only local Radio Channels from launch (UK Wide Radio launch later on).
-Back then you pick your own channel numbers.
-Some channel called "Travel Deal" from Travel Channel was last on list.

I remember a channel called "LIVE" on Telewest many years ago and a movie channel called HVC which stood for home video channel.

Ah, but do you remember 'Wire TV'? Now that takes you back!
If I recall correctly, their most popular programme was about fishing!

How about the days of Cable North West, and the Sega channel? You could plug your Sega Megadrive in, and play online games. How cool was that?

It seems BT have now made some HBO content available via its buy and keep service , no idea of costs however.

One would imagine it would be quite expensive as HBO like to charge top dollar for their content.
