MB still does a lot to keep us informed as and when he can. Currently he is just keeping his word and protecting his sources. Nothing wrong with that in the slightest!

MB is perfectly capable of speaking for himself without you stirring things up (and indeed has done).
There has never been any suggestion that MB should abuse the trust that someone has placed in him (indeed I have kept quiet or not posted things until a given date at the request if sources).
The issue here is that the "confidential" information is available anyway to anybody with the right equipment. VM obviously want to keep the names of the channels that are testing private as they have taken the unprecedented step of giving them code names; revealing how many channels are testing will not change this.

What on earth did HBO expect after limiting their content to a contract with Sky? Whilst it's not a series that i'm particularly interested in, I would investigate alternative ways of availing myself of it if Sky/HBO directly or indirectly refused to supply the material to my Pay TV provider.

Indeed. Spike's schedule is listed on Digiguide, it looks pretty much like a 5* clone with a few extra programmes and minus the Australian soaps. 5*, going forward, keeps the Australian soaps and gains new material from Viacom, such as Catfish.
The Freeview EPG is notoriously unreliable when slots change hands. Although the 2 hour slot you have noticed could be an indication of Viva being used for an EPG squatting exercise on Freeview. Viacom/Channel 5 certainly have enough spare capacity (teleshopping) to take a couple of hours out of one of their other channels on Freeview to create a new slot.
Viva's schedules, going forward, show it reverting to a basic music video channel and losing the "entertainment" shows. Music video channels don't bring in enough revenue to fund carriage on the national Freeview multiplexes, so it is unlikely that Viva would be used for anything other than an EPG "placeholder" on Freeview.

Sky Living to focus on US Acquisitions with homegrown moving to Sky One.
Quote:
Stuart Murphy director of Sky entertainment channels, outlined his plans in a note to staff.
“As part of a strategic realignment of the entertainment portfolio we have decided to supersize Sky 1, dramatically increasing the investment in home-grown shows on our main entertainment channel,” he said.
“As part of this reallocation of budget, the majority of home-grown shows on Sky Living will move over to our main entertainment channel from next fiscal, with Sky Living focusing almost exclusively on US dramas going forward.”

Nothing to do with Sky Atlantic , Sky Living already shows a considerable amount of US content , no doubt some of the current US series shown on Sky One will move over to Sky Living also.

Lol, very funny first sentence. Not quite sure how that was stirring things up, but there we go. Apologies mods if I was/am stirring things up.
Of course, he can speak for himself. It does not preclude me from suggesting a way for you to the find the info out for your self and then gaining a better understanding of why the his DNP's are in place.
Ultimately, we are talking about peoples jobs here, and there is a real possibility of someone receiving very serious reprimands for disclosing sensitive information, if it is let slip online.

The saliant point is that the information is in the public domain for those with the capability of tuning into off EPG broadcasts.
You're right in that some 'leaks' can be traced back to the individual concerned and that it's not worth someone losing their job over, but I can't see it being possible in this instance.
All we know is that a number of unamed channels are testing on the system and that a sizeable number of people have access to this information. I doubt VM are particularly bothered, particularly as the channel names have been coded and the broadcasts encrypted.
That's not to say that I would encourage anybody to breach a trust on information passed to them.

Good - they've needed a bit of a tidy up for a while.

Totally agree , there has been very little consistency to the scheduling with each channel not having any real identity.
