Talk Talk forces adult filter on customers

Hi guys, I cannot find a link to this. But we have another broadcaster. Banning adult content.

Isn't it about time it is the viewers choice to watched what they want to watch.

I know for a fact that the viewer can ban - on the channels. Adult content.

I find that, this is the broadcaster telling us, you can longer do that.

TalkTalk says customers who have not yet chosen whether to activate net filters must opt out of its safety system if they wish to continue viewing adult material online.
The net provider will block access with pop-up boxes until decisions are made.

Is called opt in/out it's still your choice as said by others tick the box of your choice and continue to feel for filled

BT's filters have been in place for months. We have them switched on. Managing the occasional false positive is trivially easy. No such system is perfect, but it prevents my kids easily coming across pr0n, so it's fine by me.

As long as the kids have still got borderline pornographic TV adverts, programs, chat shows, music videos, video games, pop stars, childrens shows. reality shows.

then all is well.

I suppose they just want to hide where it all leads.

Vodafone mobile have had filters like this for sometime. You can opt out if you wish. Just a simple box tick for the registered owner.

Providers are only changing the default setting to on. Hardly "forcing" is it?

For one thing, I don't think the law considers your ISP to be broadcasting content to you, any more than it would consider your phone company to be broadcasting premium rate phone lines to you assuming you called premium rate lines.

For another ,Broadcasters have always, whether legally required to or not, told us what we can and cannot watch. Try looking for any explicit video of sexual organs on broadcast TV before nine o' clock, or hardcore sex at any time.

Personally, I have no problem with the filters ISPs are putting on net connections to block adult content, as long as I have the option to turn it off, should I want.

All they are doing is forcing you to make a choice.

Personally I always turn any filters and restrictions off, I like to make my own choices, not be limited by someone elses.
