The Great "Did your engineer wear covers on feet" discussion.

Got into a discussion on the forums back on VM, only for a guy to say I was wrong that engineers have to wear covers all times in customer houses, and they have said it is not policy/engineers don't wear covers on their feet.

Of course the guy is a bit angry over it because it happened to him when an engineer didn't do so, but for some reason he isn't entertaining the possibility that he got unlucky.

How many people have had bad experiences with engineers not doing that, and how many have had all their engineers doing that?

Would be interesting to find out, because the only time for me when they didn't wear them is before they became required to do so, and even then they had a pair of boots they used in houses and took off the muddy ones outside first.

Re: The Great "Did your engineer wear covers on feet" discussion.

I've had a few engineers out to me this year and all have worn them.

I actually made a point in saying I didn't mind if they didn't as it just seemed to be a bit overkill but they said it was policy to do so.

Weird if that isn't across the board, if I'm honest.

Safety boots to be worn and overshoes used. Some do offer to take there boots off but your not supposed to as you aren't covered,(literally) if you stand on something ect

Re: The Great "Did your engineer wear covers on feet" discussion.

Seeing that these "over shoes" plastic bag things can be bought in bulk and cost quite cheaply, I'd expect all engineers to wear them.
My latest engineer from British Gas came to service my boiler and put them on straight away.

Not all engineers wear cover shoes.

Actually linking back to where you had a discussion with the other VM member actually shows you a twitter post that you somehow missed or just ignored, I have to ask why did you not insert that link?

https://twitter.com/trvynicolas/stat...365824/photo/1

As PROVEN not all engineers are made equal.

End of.

Re: The Great "Did your engineer wear covers on feet" discussion.

I didn't ignore it at all.

You just chose to ignore the reply I gave to you that is all.

And the fact you are here trying to pretend you are not the same person, even though your style of writing is the exact same is very suspect.

Well hey ho.

Picture time...

Now strange that you have recently came here, and speak the same.

Also how you think me saying "They have to wear them" = "ALL engineers wear them" which is not what I said.

So why did you try and come over as someone else when it is clearly you?

Re: The Great "Did your engineer wear covers on feet" discussion.

Well during the NTL days i was told if Engineers have been fitting in the garden and then come into the house they should either wear Cover shoes or take shoes off.

I had over £400 compensation from them when i was left with huge muddy foot prints on a light carpet that led not only upstairs and into a bedroom but also into my living room.
