That is absolutely shocking!
Honestly how often do children end up not at parties?
I was at a friends before christmas and of 50 invited only about 24 actually made it. Asking for money from the parents of those that didn't show would be the last thing on my mind.
Also the thuoght of her wasting time and money at the small claims courts for less than £20 is beyond belief.
Also I am sure that is the last time anyone doesn't show up to any of her child's parties lmao.

Silly woman. She has not done herself, or her child, any favours at all. Maybe a few of her cronies will back her up but on the whole I think she will just be a laughing-stock.
Fair enough she has paid out £15.95 but she would still have paid that if the child had attended. Maybe she will ask for a refundable deposit when she arranges any birthday parties in the future, goodness knows how she would have coped with recouping the cost of cleaning a carpet if any food had been spilled had she held the party at home.

Reading between the lines, I would guess this is her little darling's first birthday party since starting school, she's dealing with a new set of parents she doesn't know so well, and she is somehow a complete social cripple who has no idea that there are some things you simply don't do, no matter how aggrieved you feel.
She has properly pooped on her own doorstep, right at the start of her child's school career, and we can only hope that he doesn't suffer for her pig-headedness.

Simple: there was almost certainly no intent to create legal relations.
If it goes to court, she'll lose.
And in any case, no parent will want their kids to have anything to do with hers from now on.

After having quite a few parties for both my boy's you do sometimes get some that don't show up after saying they would and quite a few times i've had a few extra little one's to feed because the child who is invited to a party has a younger brother/sister who then realize that their older sibling is going to a party and it looks fun so I've just said they can stay with their brother/sister as their is always extra food,drinks and party bags. What would this woman have done if the boy was sick (ask for a doctors report)  I do not think she has done herself any good here I only hope her child is not judged because of her actions. What a crazy world we live in.
