Cancelling VM Contract

I've literally just renegotiated a contract with Virgin, but have realised that BT's TV offer has greatly improved along with the free BT Sport so I want to cancel and move there

I know I will lose the rest of my line rental saver, that's fine, but any cancellation fees? I've found the table on the site but it does say at the bottom 'early disconnection fees are not payable for any month where you have already paid for your line rental in advance with Line Rental Saver'

Does that read the same to you as it does to me?

Re: Cancelling VM Contract

I would read that as meaning that you will only have to pay compensation for the broadband and TV services.

Re: Cancelling VM Contract

Just be aware that LRS is for 12 months. If the new contract you agreed with Virgin Media is 18 months, there would still be line rental EDF fees for the six months difference.

Which engineer were you? We've had a few over the years..

Just started a new job and most of the work is from home so could really do with the 18mbps+ upload speeds on Infinity. That and the Rugby now being on BT Sport!

For example, if you have 3 months left to run on your contract and the bundle of services you're cancelling is: Phone size:M, Broadband size:M and TV size:M+, the Early Disconnection Fee that you’ll be charged is:

£6 (for Phone M) + £7 (for Broadband M) + £8 (for TV M+) = £21 multiplied by 3 (i.e. 3 months left on your minimum contract), giving a total Early Disconnection Fee of £63.

Note: early disconnection fees are not payable for any month where you have already paid for your line rental in advance on Line Rental Saver.
Doesn't say anywhere in that last line that the early disconnection fees they are referring to are for the phone? Just says they are not payable (general) for any month I've paid LRS...

Re: Cancelling VM Contract

Hmm. I'll see what I can find out about that on Monday - pretty sure it'll only be in connection to the line rental, so that page needs clarifying.

Haven't see anything to say that the LRS payment cancels all EDFs
