I wonder when this stupid SD only of BBC regional English news will be lifted, the other day I watched BBC London in HD on the News channel at 6:30am

Not surprising as the two emminate from the same studios. They could just output the London BBC1 HD output to all regions during the local news, but no doubt this would also get complaints.

When there are the same number of BBC HD regions as there are SD (or when the SD regions are reduced to match the HD ones)

They do that if you're watching BBC One live via iPlayer, and I think it has indeed been complained about.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2014) Vol. 4
This is something both the BBC and ITV need to address next year. I`m not technically minded but surely adding local hd variants to BBC and ITV isn`t that difficult? The only thing that I can see that`s holding them back is money.
Anyway I`d like to take this opportunity to wish everyone A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Cost is in the way upgrading the regional news centres, networks and serial new hd frequencies, across cable, satellite and freeview. Want an increase in license fee, to pay for it!

Certainly not! I object to this over-priced `tv tax` as it is!

Why does the regional programming have to be in hd? Is it not possible to cut the current version into the hd broadcast? Non hd content is shown on hd channels all the time.

But you don't object to paying more for your soap powder etc. to fund the advertising on ITV? It's still a 'Tax'; just not collected in such an obvious way.

No I'd like the BBC to stop wasting money and spend it more wisely.

I'm not hear to justify the BBC license fee. These upgrades have to be paid for somehow.

Or not boosting the BBC1 drama budget which is already over what it should be by 30 million.
The BBC is run by fools that have no idea how to spend money wisely.
