Re: Virgin Media to raise broadband and phone prices in Feb 2015

I just reduced my services as I couldn't justify the price. XL tv to M and broadband down a bit. Got 3 months free sky sports and movies. Bill down from £69 to £45.

Re: Virgin Media to raise broadband and phone prices in Feb 2015

well i finally called and played the calm and polite approach and was happy that I now get upgraded to TIVO, increased broadband to 152mb and pay £5 less a month than I currently do and wont have the price increase.

I do see hwoever regulation in this sector coming similar to energy where they have to review yoru package to esnsure fair price because it shoudlnt be the case that I get hell a lot more for less than what i was on; it does penalise the quiet customer

Also final word on customer service; from where they were in 2010 when I first called to now is leaps and bounds better; I know people have bad experiences with CS but in terms of improvement when i first had it installed to where they are now I have to gicve credit where its due

Depends where in VM you ring. 'Retentions' always has been very good, with reason; I tend to just ring them whatever the issue. The other areas service can be variable and from a random country; same as everywhere else these days.

Re: Virgin Media to raise broadband and phone prices in Feb 2015

Price increase for me caused me to reduce services to Freeview and 50MB BB, keeping Tivo and VHD+ boxes, saving over £20 pm.

Will get Eurosport on an app for £3.99 pm, meets my needs!

Re: Virgin Media to raise broadband and phone prices in Feb 2015

I received my price increase letter about 3 weeks ago, going up £4.69, I am not happy but accept it to a certain degree.
What has upset me is I have been informed I am being upgraded from 30 to 50mb broadband by Dec 2014, now I have just looked at my details and it says Feb-April 2015 with the usual disclaimer.
Pretty poor show that.

Re: Virgin Media to raise broadband and phone prices in Feb 2015

Just got home to my letter and £4.50 increase from Feb 2015 so along with the additional £1.00 on the Line Rental that'll be a 9% rise for the Big Kahuna bundle.

As I've mentioned previously, if it wasn't for the fact I've paid upfront for my Sky Sports season ticket then I'd be moving the TV to Sky with 50% off for 12 months.

I feel a complaint coming on!

Re: Virgin Media to raise broadband and phone prices in Feb 2015

I rang up retentions today about my £4.69 increase (on 50 meg, tv XL and M phone). The CS adviser was quite apologetic that he could only refund me the total cost of the price increase for the remaining duration of my contract (up to August), but recommended that i ring up again in August to see what they could do for me. It's already showing as a credit against my next bill. Glad i rang !!
