Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
A couple of times since the update I have looked for a show only to find it has been deleted and confusingly a programme I had watched which I thought I had deleted was still in My Shows. This is on my bedroom TiVo which only I have access to so I know it is definitely something I have done.
I watched HIGABMNFY and as it follows the news I always pad it by an extra 15 minutes just in case the news is extended. As it had extra padding when I had finished watching it did not ask me to delete it but instead returned to My Shows. I was just about to hit clear when I noticed that the selection bar which should have been on HIGABMNFY was actually on the programme above it (if you see what I mean). Whilst I had been watching HIGABMNFY another programme had started recording and shuffled the list of programmes down by one but the selection bar stayed where it was. I am sure previously the selection bar would have moved so it was still one the programme you had just watched? I think this is what has been happening causing me to delete the wrong programme when I have not been paying attention.
Also, I noticed that that when you are in a group and you hit left to return to My Shows the selection bar returns to where it was positioned in the list when you entered the group which if another recording has started/taken place since is now the wrong place. Previously the selection bar would always re-appear on the group regardless of the groups positioning in My Shows.
Anyone else noticed any My Shows oddities since the update? I am pretty sure the ones I have described have only just started happening since the update.

You are probably right because it now remembers the position you were last in, instead of returning to the top. This is by design but personally I preferred the old behaviour.

It never returned to the top on the old v20.3.5 software. Go into My Shows start watching a recording (by pressing play), stop it (and keep recording if prompted) and then it would return to My Shows with the selection bar highlighted on the programme just played.
Now this behaviour is not consistent (depending on group settings and whether another programme has started recording) and the selection bar may remaining highlighted on the programme just played (as expected) or it could be the programme above or the one above that (I suppose it depends on how many new recordings have started).
This behaviour seems more like a bug, rather than by design.
(Edit: When you say "remembers the position you were last in, instead of returning to the top" do you mean when entering My Shows from the main menu or from Live TV? If so, then we are talking about different things here. My problem is when it automatically returns you to My Shows when you stop a watching a recording).

Agreed, that is a bug. I was just saying it's likely to have been introduced by the change in design.

Any chance you can mention this to the TiVo support/development team at VM and possibly get it raised as an issue? I don't except any quick fix but it would be nice for it to be acknowledged then there is always a small chance of it being fixed.
Also, I know their have been numerous reports on here and over on the VM support boards about laggy remote commands and generally slow menus. I have also noticed this.
The other day I was in my planned recordings and I hit page down twice followed by down 4 times and nothing happened. Just when I thought it had not registered the remote commands the screen updated and it went to the expected place (i.e. two pages down and four programmes down).
It must have took a good 7 or so seconds before the screen update happened but when it did it was one quick succession (i.e. just one single update as apposed to it replaying the commands one-by-one and updating the screen after each one).

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
Just got my Tivo and in setting up the series links I notice that the EPG has only 3 days worth . Even my old V+ had 6 days. It just says "To be announced". Is this correct or I have done or not done something?

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
It will take some time for the epg to populate all this info.

l think it takes 24 hours or so for all the info to propagate the EPG Nomad.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
The startup screen said 10 mins, but longer for 14 day epg. Even the V+ didn't take this long.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
The start up screen will take 10 minutes as the TiVo has far more information then a V+ thus it takes longer.

The V+ EPG was a much simpler affair; patience will reward you

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
Not had time to test this but has anyone had any problems recording the first programme on BBC 3 or BBC 4 (at 7 PM) when it transitions from the off-air screen? Being reported over on the VM forums that it looks as though this bug which was previously fixed has now returned:
