Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2014) Vol. 4
Has there been any "new" information on when Sky Sports News HQ HD and Sky News HD will launch? Or is this info still very quiet at the moment? Yes, I know we've been told "January 2015" but has anyone been told an exact date yet?

There is no exact date in January currently but strong rumours persist that they will arrive in the month of January according to reliable sources.

would make sense. mcmahon said he was planning on launching the network on the 1st of the year. i dont know if he means january or literally the 1st of january... this was mentioned on the stone cold steve austin podcast.
whats ironic about that interview is it was only available on the network. so only people with the network would learn that information... yet the uk dont wouldnt ever learn what was said. haha. classic wwe communication

At the same time stopping these people from watching BBC Three entirely. It's a completely ridiculous proposal, there has been in a significant rise in people accessing content online but still nowhere near as much as linear television

I think in general the target demographic for BBC three has access to the internet, whilst the same isn't wholly true of the BBC One audience. I'm not in favour of this, but if you were going to do it to any channel then BBC three is probably the correct one to choose.

I would agree and for items where they spilled over into BBC three such as F1 highlights I can see them utilising the red button more

If BBC Three does go completely online I wonder if we might get a TiVo app? Preferably one with its own EPG number (like Netflix and YouTube) and with a full listing of BBC Three programmes on the EPG.

Can't see it being giving a full EPG on TiVo - all the Netflix and YouTube channels do is give a way of 'pressing red' to link directly to the apps. I would expect it'll be added to the Connected Red Button service where that is available by the BBC

I have thought this too. I originally thought that it would become a VOD service like Netflix, but as it will be streaming 24 hours a day, what is there to stop VM playing out the online stream via channel 106? They could advertise that they still have BBC3 on linear television!
Can TiVo customers record programmes accessed through an app? If not, this could be another selling point.

It's now been added to the EPG on number 834.
As expected, it is for TiVo customers only.
Can someone with a TiVo have a nosy around and tell us what's available on it please?

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2014) Vol. 4
Crap potential news about BBC3 ... it will ruin it not being a linear channel.
Anywhere we can formally object?

There is going to a formal BBC consultation
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-30345379
Quote:
The BBC Trust is to launch a full public consultation over the proposed closure of BBC Three in the New Year, it has been announced.
Licence fee payers and audience groups will be given a chance to respond to the plans, which will be published in full on the Trust website.
