We need to stress that if we get this new thread ONLY specific problems with the TIVO box dates times etc are posted.
IT SHOULD NOT be a thread where we comment on each others posts APART FROM if Spider or Ben etc need more info and they can always PM that person.

TBH I'm not going to get involved with this - I'm not in the right part of VM!

Given that everyone has now had the update, won't this thread naturally resort to the posts being about questions and problems anyway and therefore there is no need for a new thread?

Fair point. I just didn't want Spider having to trawl through numerous 'chatting' posts for him to get to the important points.
And Ben, fair enough mate :

I seem to remember when Tivo first came out only one processor thingy was active?
Did the second one ever get switched on?

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
Must admit over the last couple of days I have noticed a significant slow down on the new release. When you press the myshows button the screen goes black for about 5 seconds before the listings are displayed.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
I think I'd characterise it from my experience so far that within individual areas in TiVo performance is now better, but when switching between different areas there are now longer delays and blank screens.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
I haven't found my TIVO slowing down at all. Maybe I'm just lucky.

Upgrade caused havoc with my levels and had to have the engineer round..
Must agree with peeps who say the reaction time has slowed somewhat after a remote button press...

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
Tivo always has been slow for me, a reboot does help temporarily. Thinking about putting a timer on the plug so it reboots every night.
There's too many junk apps/gimmicks on there which few use. I could happily live without the thumbs up/down - never use it. It should concentrate all it's resources on the epg and being responsive to channel changes - this is what its needed for most of the time.

My TiVo is so slow today it's unbelievable. Took over a minute to change a channel earlier. I'd be interested in Spiderplant's opinion as to whether the BIB in Mr K's post is as good an idea as it seems - or are there likely to be unforseen consquences?

It won't do any harm, but it shouldn't be necessary either.
