Re: Elite: Dangerous
I will get some screenshots when they fix SLI, so I am able to play it maxed out at 4K as at the moment running between 24fps and 80fps is killing the game, especially when it dips.

Re: Elite: Dangerous
So in the latest Beta they've added more stuff including mining and the ability to pull other players out of hyperspace

Re: Elite: Dangerous
No Thargoids yet (but apparently will be appearing at some point) - this was just another player who was passing

Re: Elite: Dangerous
Back to my UK flag paint job again for a bit - tends to make me a bit of a target in the game but bring it on is all I can say

Re: Elite: Dangerous
There is no demo, and I haven't seen any plans for one.
The only way to play at the moment is to purchase the game, paying an additional amount for beta access. But beta ends next week, with the game going to "gamma" i.e. pre-release, before full launch on the 16th Dec.
Prior to launch you can buy the "mercenary edition" for £35, which gives some added content at a discount of £4.99 on the normal game price, but only play after the 16th. Pay an extra £15 for the beta to play now, but you can't do that after next week, this offers a few long term game benefits such as extra ship, free access to some of the solar systems especially Sol (our system).
The game is only available on the elite dangerous sites, and needs an online connection to work. It's also getting tweaked so fast as they catch bugs (hence this being a genuine beta) that I doubt anyone could create a demo anyway. The best guides you get as to what the game is about are the numerous player videos.
