They have certainly dropped the red colours usually associated with the Virgin brand. A sign of things to come perhaps?

I personally love the new colours and think overall it looks cleaner and sharper and a lot classier.

I have three TiVos and they are all quicker since the update. Both mini guide and the main menus. Not a lot but enough to notice while navigating.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
No update yet in Notts. I will be interested to see if there are any improvements, I hate the speed issues, especially starting Netflix, it run's great when it's going, but it is so slow to start, painful.

Hmm. Try this...
Put your thumb over the IR receiver on the front of the TiVo (it's just to the left of the standby LED), then use the front panel buttons to operate the TiVo. Does it now go faster?

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
Rebooting seems to speed up Tivo temporarily. The longer it's switched on the slower it gets. Maybe the update has the same effect as a reboot before it gradually reverts to the usual snail pace. My v hd box is so much quicker and the PQ is better too.

Can't really see it tbh Stephen, I was expecting something a lot better, but imo the only real difference is the colour scheme......

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
I was under the impression the "falsh clash" bug within series links had been resolved in this update, it certainly still seems present here.

I haven't seen anything to suggest it is fixed. Got a link?
Not that I've ever seen it myself. Do you have a reproducible case?

I concur , i don't really see any difference other than the colour scheme changing.
Does the % of hard drive use have any bearing on how sluggish Tivo appears?

Apologies, no I don't have a link - I seem to recall seeing it discussed somewhere, but can't recall where. Sorry again for confusing!

I've got one currently, "Secrets of the Wild" on NatGeo Wild. One recording rescheduled but showing as a clash. Certainly not a major issue in the grand scheme of things.

Probably a bit, but I'd think fragmentation is a bigger factor. If a TiVo is really slow it's usually caused by IR interference (hence my questions to Max).
