Tivo nightmare
Our box has crash 2 days in a row strangely about the same time in the afternoon with my parents watching the TV as it happened.
The second crash today the tivo box did not recover, when I got home I run faults and they first tried to send a signal with no success then they said that an engineer would try to remote in to fix our box and it would take about 3 hours and after that time restart the box, did not work and stuck on starting up image
Called back faults with bit of language misunderstandings now seems they have decided they will send out an engineer on Saturday morning!

Re: Tivo nightmare
My TIVo box had to be replaced by the engineer as the hard drive failed, lucky most of my lost recording was available by the catch up service
There was some interest points coming out of this in relation to Virgin Media Anywhere
1. Soon as the new box was plugged in for whatever reason my iOS app picked it up straight away, result!
2. Does any of your TIVo settings get saved remotely? I tried the How to copy TIVo settings web help, but I suppose because the faulty box was removed there was no settings available to copy to my new TiVo box?

You should be able to copy Series Links, Thumbs and WishLists for up to two weeks after the box is removed by using this site:
http://anywhere.virginmedia.com/tivo/boxswap/
Is that what you tried?

As always a friendly engineer installed the new box and while taking to him about Virgin TV Anywhere he informed me it seems to be policy not to get involved with this on faults, completely understand but it would not hurt I think in giving the customer this web address on a box swap!

I agree; it's unfortunate they made it part of TV Anywhere rather than standalone. I'll ask if we can get some cards printed for techs to hand out.
Glad it worked anyway.

Re: Tivo nightmare
No point wasting money on cards. If they just added it to the check sheet it would make life easier.
They could remove the section that says "I've reminded the customer about our great service like "free hd"" when I'm installing an old samsung 2110 box!
