It's nothing to do with tastes, as in " colour " Den, imo the functionality upgrades are of more importance.

Of course they are and they seem to be significant Nothing wrong with mentioning other aspects as well though

Functionality was added. The lack of the mini TV screen in planned recordings and other menus was a nuisance as you couldn't continue to watch or listen when checking these things.
Also, re-ordering series links locked up the box for ages (around 20 minutes for me) whilst it was processing the changes. Now it doesn't and you can simply re-order by taping a number in a box.
Both of these were big functionality improvements for me.
|
I'm glad that these nuisances have been resolved for you. It's a shame it was at the detriment of one of the key selling points of TiVo.

Changing suggestions for the rather useless feature that has replaced it was I'm assuming all down to Virgin, though? It certainly bears no resemblance to the US suggestions.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
Gotta agree with those who like the look of it. I am hoping the speed improves I must admit. I am not overly bothered by the speed of my TIVO overall, but faster and smoother is always better.
Does anyone know if the introduction of HTML 5 mean the new apps will, essentially, be webpages or is it more technical that that?

Does this mean that Amazon prime instant could now be a possibilty? Even if there isn't a specific 'app' using via browser could be?

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
Hopefully my area will be the last to get it.
Going on past updates though, which areas are normally the first to get these updates?

No area "normally" gets updates first*. The areas are picked depending on how many customers we want to get the software, and that varies each time.
(*) Except Crawley maybe. If we want a small standalone area on the Knowsley network, there's a choice of one...

Given that amazon prime is rumoured to be coming to US TiVo, then it theoretically should be possible. I guess it depends if VM and UK Amazon can or want to do a deal.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
No mention of Netflix. Is there any likelihood of being able to access individual profiles, i.e. those you can access through your browser.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
Are Netflix and iPlayer in the opera tv store? Will it be possible to use different versions of these apps if we're not keen on the ones currently available?
