I worked part time in a supermarket in Gorton Manchester prior to leaving school in the early 1960's. name of Adsega.

It was definitely Adsega. I remember it as a child in Didsbury in the early 1960s.

I had shares in Hillards when Tesco took over after a hostile takeover bid in 1987. Eventually, after they obtained most of the company, the remaining shareholders like myself were forced to sell our shares to Tesco.

IIRC we got some cash and Tesco shares (which I still have to this day!)

The Hillards family resent this to this day and used the money for other business investments.
