l agree as late at night on the Drama channel they have a history and garden programme as well and frankly l find that utterly ridiculous on a so called drama channel.

It staggers me how they can call it a History channel now.

Please sir, I know the answer! Gold has a far smaller potential audience as it's only available on pay tv platforms. Drama is available on all platforms except Freesat.

I think history refers to the age of that channel's programmes It all started to go downhill for me when the Radio Times started to print listings for TV programmes.

Scotland may not get The One Show from September 19th.
That make my mind up.

Even the day after a successful referendum result, Scotland remains part of the UK until the day of independence. that date is to be agreed. therefore all programmes and license fee collection continue regardless.

haha why is the One show being mentioned?? Is there a particular reason for the One Show being taken off air the day after the vote or did we mean the entire bbc network??
as cj says it'll be 2 years or so after the vote until independence goes through. except it on some cheesy date as well like st andrews day 2016 or something daft like that. with fireworks over edinburgh castle (if it has one) and salmond thumping a desk mentioning past struggles and how scotland is free at last.
If you want to convince people to stay in the uk instead of the one show mention how all football will go subscription including match of the day and the scottish version...

That's quite harsh, the one thing about the independence referendum, no matter what the media hype, or the hype from either campaign, is the campaign manifestos are about positive about the future, not the past stereotypes you mention.
the preferred independence date is 24 March 2016, the day of the union of the crowns in 1603 and the treaty of union passing between England and Scotland.
well sky and cable in Ireland show the football, as it is around Europe. so no change there. the bbc is shown round Europe.
I actually need to correct myself. tv/radio services may change nearer the date of independence. A new digital Scottish broadcaster is proposed. to what extend BBC services will alter is up for negotiation. likewise what happens to VM, SKY, freeview and Freesat.
I suspect the BBC will fight to keep its services in Scotland.
