Ah - it's "Vessel with the Pessle" (the Court Jester) or "Chateau from the Gateau" ('Allo, 'Allo) time!
The Superhub 1 is hardware version 2.
The Superhub 2 is hardware version 3.11

So I was (am?) a SH2 trialist and my SH2 is still on .26 - any news on when we early adopters will get the latest version?

Re: superhub 2 software version V1.01.29 Out Now
It seems to be a bit of a struggle for VM. The latest I have is that they're collecting the SH2 MAC addresses from the triallist database and somehow poking the update out to those devices.
I'm guessing but they're not happy with that having discovered that the triallists on original SH2s remain on a triallist MAC domain. They'd then be worried as to whether or not they have all the MAC addresses to swing back to the normal doamin - and that is further complicated by regional structure.
So twisted knickers to go with ridiculous names like "Big Kahuna" (who thinks this trollox up?)

No idea. I'm on .26 too. I was a trialist.
I thought this was a rollout area by area, so I'm not sure if 'early adopter' status has anything to do with it. Someone will tell me I'm wrong on that.

Re: superhub 2 software version V1.01.29 Out Now
you don't have any choice, the shub will automatically download the latest firmware revision. There might not be a noticable difference in the GUI but there will be a difference in the code relating to stability/security/something else. If you google it I am sure you will find a post by one of the mods on the VM forum. They always announce a release date in advance and the issues the firmware is going to address (e.g. in the past they released one to address compatability issues with voip handsets).

Ideally that's how it's designed (for the large majority of users) but unfortunately if post trials/early adopters have not had a "post" SNMP reset then those that were manually updated (e.g. in Trials) may not have the "pointers" reset back to "Production" DHCP/TFTP servers for necessary Configuration File update that then subsequently invokes the SW initialisation download stanza that pulls/pushes the latest firmware.
Applying a Factory Reset should reset any "skewed" pointers. This also explains why if you're on a Trial then you need the Firmware resent again after you do a Factory Reset as effectively you switch yourself back to Production environment rather than remain in the Test/Trial environment!

Re: superhub 2 software version V1.01.29 Out Now
Hey, I am not on the trial list as I only got my Super Hub 2 two weeks ago, and when I got it, it was on r26.
I just noticed today that I am now on r29.
Anyone got a change log of what changes are included. Just read through this thread and didn't see anyone report it.

Re: superhub 2 software version V1.01.29 Out Now
R29 fixed a security lapse whereby for 7 seconds while rebooting the SH2, WiFi connection was Open.

You mean the thing the trialists reported within the first few days of receiving the SH2?

Remote unauthenticated reboot + 7 seconds to get in to the web interface and look at key = free wifi! Could count how many people used the vulnerability on the claws of a doge's paws. Four months to fix the problem is still a long time as most will roll out a fix for a security problem quickly, no matter how small the issue is due to how bad it makes them look to the internetz which can be a PR disaster.
I noticed people are not jumping at the chance to try new firmwares like they used to. Now it's a case of ''ll wait until everyone else has tried it to make sure it doesn't b0rk anything"

Re: superhub 2 software version V1.01.29 Out Now
Random wireless scan in just about any urban neighbourhood = free wifi. Why would anyone even bother going to the trouble of remotely rebooting someone with no idea where within a several mile radius their access point may be...

Whenever a new firmware revision is released VM make an official announcement on the VM forum and Ben prompty puts a link to it in this forum. A quick google search should pop it up.
