No one in their right mind would make any changes to anything while the world cup is on

You're welcome. MB's posts in this thread said that he could not divulge the date. But I don't blame anyone for asking again. As I've posted before, I expect the window for their lauch to be even shorter as the Commonwealth Games start on Wednesday 23 July which VM is a main sponsor of. I would expect them to launch w/c 14 July so should be before the 18th.

The good news it's not an "if", both VM and Sky have confirmed with press releases that they have signed a deal!

Arthur, why don't you email the CEO and ask him why it takes so long for these channels to launch, and let us know how you get on.

That's a better post! An answer, based on sensible reasoning. Thanks.

I think it's been discussed here before, the assumption that all it takes is to press a button being a reasonable one on paper but wrong in reality. I think the answer was that the network is not homegenous so what works in one area won't necessarily work in all other areas hence extensive testing. If only the Government had awarded one UK cable franchise from the start...

I'm quietly confident that they will be! Followed by Sky Sports 5 on the 12th.

I will reveal the launch date closer to that launch date that I have been told of.
Just waiting on confirmed channel numbers for the new Sky Sports HD Channels (Due to Sky Sports 5 also set to launch).

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2014) Vol. 2
Right so now we ALL know the missing sky sports hd channels will launch AFTER the world cup and sky sports 5 after that. Can we now ALL just be patient and wait? As it was pointed out what annoys me and others is having to scroll through endless repeated posts asking the same questions to find something new! Sorry if I offended anyone, didn`t mean too!

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2014) Vol. 2
If Sky can give everyone out there the launch date of Sky sports 5 this far ahead why can't Virgin tell its customers precisely when the HD sports will be added (not launched like SS5 just added)?

Some here seriously underestimate the work involved to launch channels. It would still be a big job even if there was a homogeneous network.
Not that that is relevant here. The Sky HD channels will launch to the contractually-agreed schedule.

I assume because they use different technologies and each has its own unique advantages and disadvantages. I think the issue could be better communicated by VM though.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2014) Vol. 2
But did Sky give a date when SS5 would be added?
Seems odd they added over 60 days before launch - when its a free (to sports customers) channel anyway.
