Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2014) Vol. 2
However Virgin do it, there will be someone moaning about how they ordered the channels. As long as it comes before the USPGA starts then I am happy enough. And it seems likely to launch well before the start of the NFL season as well, so no worries there for me.

That's the way l see it but the war between Sky and BT is now beginning in earnest as each battle each other and Virgin might just be the beneficiary of this ongoing war.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2014) Vol. 2
Ok, another sports channel, but really! It's probably going to be mainly for football from what I've been reading on this thread, I love my football, but do we really need another one? Getting Sky Sports 3 & 4 and Sky Sports news in HD is a great piece of business by Virgin, but imo they ain't hitting the "sweet spot" with customers! I'm fairly confident that most Virgin customers would have preferred Virgin to do a deal for SA and Encore instead of another sports channel!

The problem is Max that Sky have no intention of retailing the carriage of SA to other providers and secondly ITV have signed a exclusive deal with Sky for carriage of ITV Encore thus there is nowt Virgin can do at the moment.

I understand that Den, and that is why I said that they weren't hitting the sweet spot, so to speak. I'ts about time Virgin realised that a lot of their customers ain't very happy at missing out on decent channels, why can't Virgin do deals like Sky do? They are now owned by Liberty, a huge company, who surely must have some clout when it comes to making deals for content!

you got to remember Liberty hasn't had VM that long and done some very good deals already and hopefully be some more in not do distant future and remember the VM are in billions of debt too so sky will always have the advantage when competing for content sadly

Well, maybe they will reverse their decision to stay out of content, who knows? Co-operation with BT and sharing of costs may change things.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2014) Vol. 2
Just had a thought. Do BT Vision people only get Sky Sports 1 and 2?
Well then, if they do, the creation of Sky Sports 5 means removing all of the CL football from BT viewers for this season, hence they cannot watch any of it.
Clever strategy from Sky if this is the case, even though they are losing CL football at the end of this season
