Sky has added GAA and has displaced Premier Sports from the Super League (rughby).
I know beIN Sport is not a 100% commercial operation but I don't think that they will enter the UK as it is too crowded a market. As well as BT and Sky firing on all cylinders, Discovery now has raised its stake in Eurosport from 20% to 51% and promises investment in rights too. I think beIN could find some far better territories than the UK.

 | The plan for bEIN Sports was to secure the rights for North Africa and the Middle East which they have done, The next step is Europe (they already operate in France).

We could see 3 Broadcasters in the next PL bidding rights

Also, there's not much advantage to buying the Premier League across Italy and Germany as like England, each country is only prepared to pay serious money for its own league.

BT Sport's current rights have gained it 5m subscribers including 1.8m via VM wholesale. If it won massive Premiership rights then it would be unable to bundle it free with broadband. Which is the whole point of it in the first place!
 | European Law prevents it as well - hence the bundled system of bidding. No one company can hold all five bundles.

But the came out publicly an said competing with Sky is pointless for them. As if they did win any football rights they would have to pay far too much for it.

Business is business and no company will throw £3billion/£4billion or almost $7.5billion just to get 120 EPL games a year for 3 years. Sky make it up as you need to have the basic channels to get Skysports an they are also very successful at up selling broadband and phoneline. So a skysports customer becomes a full tv package/bb/phoneline customer aswell. BT only paid £700million over 3 years and it already gave them millions more subscribers an they have the added bonus broadband sign ups.

EPL TV rights don't sell massively outside of the UK.

Hmmmm, the only problem I see there is BTSPORT have the UEFA Champions league rights exclusively from 2015 for 3 years. They paid £900million.
