I just assumed that it would have one, that's really bad in this day and age.

As MB says, BBC RB 2. The other two could have been Price Drop and Bid TV that have been removed as underlying channels earlier than normal, as I doubt that there will be many people with outstanding recordings from these channels

UPDATE: After conversations with Virgin, we can confirm that Notts TV will be available on Virgin 159 from 4pm this Thursday 29th May.
We apologise for the delay!

Why on earth couldn't they have added this earlier as a placeholder, to enable VM viewers to receive the channel from the start date.

I could (almost) understand this if there had been an organised close-down with the presenters saying their goodbyes. As it was just business as usual, until the studio feed was cut and replaced with a static video slate and music, there wasn't really much to see.

The man in the know; Digital Spy's Sirius; has some very good news on the launch of those Sky Sports HD channels. "I expect this to be in the measure of hours and days not weeks and months."

Exactly Richard. Freeview viewers in Nottingham have had a rolling video in the weeks leading up to launch. I was expecting at least a paceholder from early morning seeing as Virgin tend to launch channels on Tuesday's and Thursday's.

So what will happen if you have three shows scheduled to record at the same time, and one show scheduled to finish immediately before that overruns? The show of the three with the lowest priority is cancelled? What if it has no repeat?
If they're going to implement this then they either need to allow the option to turn it off, or find a way to get TiVo to make a decision about which recording clashes to cancel that isn't based solely on series link priority.
Given the development of the TiVo software since Virgin have had it, who here seriously has faith that they will be able to implement this properly?
The current system is, I suspect, perfectly acceptable for most people. I haven't yet missed an episode of The Americans, despite the overrunning of the FA Cup and Champions League finals, because I added padding. I know it's not the most elegant solution, but it's a hell of a lot better than losing recordings in the scenario outlined above - this will happen and people won't even know why.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2014) Vol. 2
An example of the current (in my opinion) outdated recording system on Tivo:
Once on a Saturday a major sporting event ran on much longer than expected so the scheduled episode of Casualty was postponed. Tivo recorded 50 minutes of sport when Casualty was scheduled.
Casualty was rescheduled several days later . . . but Tivo failed to record it because it thought it already had.
I have encountered several similar incidents.
I hope they bring out the Dynamic Programme Guide soon. A serious omission in my view on a box that claims to be so marvellous.

Agreed. I've said the same thing myself several times. And the option to turn it off is essential.

Notts TV (channel 159) will be live from tomorrow - technical issues prevent/ed it broadcasting yesterday/today
