On the news side of things a certain other provider is now looking into getting streaming services onboard, no idea how they'll do it yet but i feel there are very interesting times ahead.

A few of my sources have stated Disney channels, nat geowild, History and H2 are all moving into the L package.

There is a key word in there somewhere.

 | Cheers for the rumours theone. I quite like the speculation on here and treat it as such. I have no real issues with anyone who posts rumours or speculation on here.

Whether you have genuine info or you are just seeking attention, it is of no consequence to me.

I appreciate many others do not like the speculation/rumours/possible attention seeking on here, and I try not criticise them for it either. Sometimes I get drawn into pointless squabbles, but ultimately I harbour no ill feelings to anyone on here.

In your defence, some of the stuff you have said has come true.

Anyhoo, I have had a couple of drinks so I will leave it there and will probably regret posting this when sober |

theone2k10 doesn't claim to know everything; he simply passes on what he receives from his sources. That works for me.
And it's not surprising that he doesn't reveal his sources, as they would soon stop giving him info if he did.

 | Thankyou for confirming , personally I'd be amazed if Sky add any third party streaming apps such as Netflix , Amazon etc being that they are a content provider I'd imagine their priorities are different to the likes of VM who leverage content from a vast array of providers. The Sky+HD software would also have to go through some radical changes for this to happen maybe on a future box though.

 | Some people seem to think i just pluck the info out of the air lol despite 80% of what i said was coming/going to happen has happened lol.
I tend to just bite back just to let them know really that i will not be bullied or pushed out. I know there are a lot of ppl on here such as yourself,OB,Vince,MB to name a couple who understand that i'm just merley passing on information i get and i will continue to pass on the information i get. I just think the grumpy ones on here today never got a visit from the Easter bunny.

I will update when i get the info as i'm very interested in this myself. Or Sky have done a deal of somekind similar to what vm had in place to offer Netflix or prime free for 6 months say to new broadband and tv customers.

YouView already has the movie pass side of Now TV available plus I believe Talk Talk customers can use the Sky Sports day pass. | Youview does certainly have everything in place for streaming, i think aswell as Nowtv on Youview, on freeview/youview there is another service too VUTV http://www.vutv.com/ |

YouView has plenty of potential , at the moment BT's offering is a little light on the ground channel wise but I'm sure it will improve.

Third parties eg VuTV, Motors TV, NowTV, cannot currently stream live channels themselves.

Long story, explained here , basically YouView boxes can only currently decode IPTV signals sent by multicast. Third party channels independent of a customer's ISP are sent by unicast which the boxes can't decode. Hopefully the boxes will be enabled in the future, thelink included a response from YouView in 2012 stating that this functionality was planned for the future.
