EGX London 2014 (Eurogamer Expo)
http://www.egxlondon.net/
http://www.egxlondon.net/tickets
The Eurogamer Expo is now known as EGX London.
This year's will be taking place at Earls Court from the 25th-28th of September.
Tickets are on sale now - £60 for a 4 day Super Pass with early entry, £20 for a single-day early entry, £17.50 for a single day normal start, £10 for a single afternoon only. Virgin Media customers are entitled to a discount.
I went last year (Friday) and in 2011 (Saturday), and had a great time at both, plus got to meet up with various people I know from from Britxbox and XBL.
I'll be going this year - Friday or Saturday. Anyone else?

Highlight was def meeting Lorne Lanning, oddworld creator ^_^
And the Onlive console for free wasnt bad. Last time went though, way too many people compaired to other years.

Re: EGX London 2014 (Eurogamer Expo)
I remember the free OnLive in 2011! I gave up though as the queues were *horrendous*.
My highlight of last year was Titanfall, and my highlights of 2011 were Uncharted 3 and the Naughty Dog dev session.
I didn't go to any dev sessions last year - the only one that I was interested in was on the wrong day

Re: EGX London 2014 (Eurogamer Expo)
I have booked my ticket for Saturday, Early pass. Much cheaper as a VM Customer! I went last year but it was a bit underwealming for me. I think it was dominated too much by the new consoles tbh. This year could well be much better.

Re: EGX London 2014 (Eurogamer Expo)
Yeah, this year should be better as we'll be approaching a year since the new generation started.
Given that it's in September, I'm expecting that we will see:
Batman: Arkham Knight (the true sequel to Arkham City, from Rocksteady unlike last year's Origins, coming to next gen. + PC only, expected in October)
Alien: Isolation (survival horror from The Creative Assembly, due in early October)

Oh, and what would be great would be Uncharted 4...

Re: EGX London 2014 (Eurogamer Expo)
I've been before an I got a free Onlive console from there, I doubt I would go if I had to buy a ticket though.
I still have the Onlive console, it came out the box about 3 times.

Re: EGX London 2014 (Eurogamer Expo)
I don't know if OnLive is even still going, lol. Didn't it go bust, or did it get rescued?
If I had got one, I would have just eBay'd it

I hope the dev sessions are good this year. I just wish they didn't announce them so late...

I might even try to connect it up in a minute...
I should say, the Queue for the free Onlive was huge...I got mine in a pack that was waiting for me when I arrived so didn't have to queue. We got them as we entered. Via the invited guest entrance, well we got a ticket type thing that told us collect one as we left.
Who would want to carry that thing around all day.

Yeah, the queue was awful.
Mind you, the queues for *everything* were awful at both I went to!

Re: EGX London 2014 (Eurogamer Expo)
Ok,,
After MUCH faffing about (Could not remember my Onlive log in so had to create a new one) I am now signed into Onlive on my Onlive "games console" and I'm now playing the demo of Mafia 2. Bare in mind this thing hasn't been plugged in for around 2 years.
Graphics are ok I guess (think xbox360 at best) its now stopped twice with the message "Loading service". Input lag is definately there but the games are still playable.
If you want to try it out just type Onlive into google and download the PC client. But it works still. It seems have plenty of games but mostly older games. EG-Just cause 2, Lego Harry potter, You can watch others play a bit like Twitch. Anyway this thread is not about Onlive so I will leave it at that.
EDIT-
Oh it appears you can record game clips via buttons on the controller, But I'm not sure how that works right now so *may* look into it tomorrow.

Re: EGX London 2014 (Eurogamer Expo)
Yeah onlive pretty much flopped. The comparison given was that of playing a PS3 on a 480p TV. People pretty much came to the conclusion that this was not viable as a competitor in the games market and more of a novelty rental machine at best. Someone had to try the idea first though and now the likes of Sony and MS will perfect that. Sony are doing it now, albeit a bit differently.
Problem with EGX is the timing of E3, there's a few months gap at best and the reason I go is to play/see games I'd seen at E3. So you buy tickets now in hope of something great at E3.

Re: EGX London 2014 (Eurogamer Expo)
I think Batman's a given, based on the previous Bat-games and Expos.
I think Alien's a given, too, as it's already been shown at EGX Rezzed in Birmingham last month.
E3... I'm hoping for Uncharted 4, which, fingers crossed, would then be shown in London in September prior to a November release (like the third).

Re: EGX London 2014 (Eurogamer Expo)
I dont believe it >_< I went online to get a VM ticket on the 3rd, they were all gone >_<
Had to pay double. Anyone think they will release more?
Onlive wasnt that bad. Definitely better than 480p. Was 720p -1080i atleast.
For me it was my net connection. After a while it just couldn't keep up and would drop quality, THEN it would go to 480 or worse, then just cut the connection.
Didnt see much input lag though, minimal at best. Never found the character drifting at any point, and i was playing UT3 so pretty fast pace.
Main reason i didnt bother was you had to use a credit card.
They were supposed to bring in giftcard credit at Game, but never happend.
