Surely virgin media customers will also get the same? My reasoning is that the BBC don`t favour one company over the other,do they? We`l see tomorrow anyway.

Re: General Sky TV Discussion

Seems like someone made a mistake as that BBC link has now changed and were left with BBC One HD on 141 in England.

My box is now showing the following changes

977 BBC One Scotland HD
978 BBC One Wales HD
979 BBC One NI HD.

That makes more sense. I thought it was a bit crazy unless they'd come up with a way to swap in the SD versions when regional programmes were on.

Re: General Sky TV Discussion

Media News: CSC Media buy new Music Channel.

I have just found out that Starz TV is now own by CSC Media but have axe BuzMuzik due to BuzMuzik having 'a similar format' as Starz TV.

CSC will soon relaunch True Entertainment +1 on Sky using BuzMuzik's space.

Info from: My old Sky Box, Digital Spy Forum.

Couple of interesting points from the longer ITV press release.
  • The ITV deal with Sky is for four years. Will ITV Encore be exclusive for all this time or just the first couple of years?
  • It looks timed to launch just before the World Cup.
  • Original content will only be available from 2015.

All interesting points , I'm not sure about exclusivity I'd be amazed if it was longer than 2 years but I'm only guessing.

This part is interesting as well

availability of ITV content on a rental basis in Sky Store
I know Sky have said they will extend buy and keep to include tv boxsets obviously ITV content will be part of that.

Until next year it's not new content so missing out less this year. But it's not just Virgin Media customers who are losing out - TalkTalk, BT, Freeview and Freesat customers are all missing out as well.
It sounds like ITV Encore content will be available from Sky Store (available via the web and other boxes like Roku) so if there are any-must watch shows anyone can see them on an adhoc basis.

Fair point. Anyway if you want classic ITV programs you only have to tune to ITV3 and 4,don`t you? I can`t see those channels stopping showing their current content anytime soon.
