Why should i? Just to please you? Grow up! I get my info i relay it here simple as that, don't like it then jog on and hit block or just skim my posts. I will not stop posting info i get just to please you. End of matter.

The thread decription " Coming soon to Virgin TV 2014
Here is the new 2014 thread for continued discussion of Channels and services confirmed or rumoured to be coming to VM this year.

Please try not to stray from the topic and descend into pointless drivel."

There's a clue there somewhere.

well said, this poster would fit in better with the Digital Spy argumentative members.

It seems everything he posts is to get a reaction or to wind someone up.

I wouldn't mind if the moaners actually contributed something or had info of their own, all they seem to want to do is shoot down me, media boy etc No wonder hardly anyone posts on here anymore. I'm getting sick and tired of it but i will continue to post the info i get as i'm sure most people appreciate the posts and the possibility of what channels/services are coming or maybe coming.

Anyway the threads going of topic so i'll stop this here lol.

Yes John. Posts that contribute nothing new but are clearly posted because the originators want to promote themselves. This thread is stifled with them.

When the rumours arise, let's hear them. But when there's none, no need to comment.
I would suggest theone was posting a rumour, well within the boundries of the thread.

I wasn't. It is a fact that a group of muslims prevented the BBC from airing a planned discussion in their mosque on a programme last Thursday. Ironically, this programme was called, 'Free Speech'.

There is a more appropriate thread here for discussion thereof:

Re: Coming soon to Virgin TV 2014

Just a thought but who'd be interested in Country music tv coming to VM? If enough are interested i could put it forward to one of my sources who could then pass it on to the relevent people.

CMT used to be on cable and satellite but closed down around 15 years ago due to lack of advertising and I believe several millions in debt. I think it was run by CMT but was a separate company, CMT Europe.

People didn't tune in because 'in general', British people hate country music, in my view, because of the bland, clichéd stuff that was churned out in the seventies. Which is a shame, because in the early nineties, much of the 'New Country' that was around was being made by people who had grown up listening to Rock music and proper traditional country who fused the two together and were making some pretty decent music.

But prejudice prevailed and they just didn't get the viewers. I think it would still be the same today.

The interesting thing is that people who don't like country music, but watch Nashville, remark on how much they like the music.

The sad thing about Nashville though is that what should have been a show about the music industry, was hijacked by those who wanted yet another Soap Opera. This reduced appeal of it to non soap opera fans and was the reason why T Bone Burnett left the show.

But does the fact that even Guardian readers (yes, that's right; the supercilious Guardian readers who comment on the media pages) like the music used in Nashville, suggest that there is more tolerance now and CMT could now work in the UK?
