Free Speed Increase

Just thought I 'd let people know that the "free" speed increase has been applied in the SP10 area.

Although I knew it was coming and had registered for it I only discovered the area had been upgraded when I went into "My Virgin Media" yesterday and found a tab to click for the upgrade to be applied to my account. Was emailed today to tell me I'd been upgraded.

Re: Free Speed Increase

Thanks for info. I went into My Virgin Media and found that our area (East Scotland?) has also been upgraded and clicked through the upgrade application.

Was a bit concerned about the possible charge mentioned, but hope this is just standard wording. Will know more when I get the promised e-mail.

Was disappointed to read that my superhub would be able to cope with the increase as I have Superhub1 and was hoping for upgrade to 2 to see if it increased wireless range which is pretty poor in our house.

Re: Free Speed Increase

My email came this morning and showed that there was no charge, as expected.

Amusingly this evening I received a standard email from VM to inform me my area had been "Supercharged" and inviting me to upgrade!

I also have SuperHub1 and I'm getting max speed on my lappy in room next door to SuperHub through an 11" cavity brick/breeze block wall although it is only a couple of metres away!

Re: Free Speed Increase

Increase from 30 to 50 has gone ahead and speed is now showing at 54 Mbps download and 3 Mbps up, so very pleased with that.

Re: Free Speed Increase

People are talking about the speed increases here

Not sure we need a new thread each time an area is upgraded.
