Atm it's £3.99 for SD and £4.99 for HD. I personally don't use it i prefer Blinkbox as they do the 99p Mondays, allthough it's hit n miss what they offer for 99p.

Re: Coming soon to Virgin TV 2014
Ok for those NOT in the KNOW from time to time we retread the Coming Soon Thread at Media Boys request I may add.We also do it with other long running threads from time to time such as the Happy Thought thread and we archive the older threads.
What we do not want is the endless bickering, flaming trolling and off topic posts that so often appear in all of the incarnations of the Coming Soon threads previous and present.
Please just this once can we just contribute meaningfully to the thread or just leave if you have nothing constructive to add...We also reserve the right to remove any postings we deem off topic.
Thanking you for your future co-operation.

Re: Coming soon to Virgin TV 2014
Maggy, thank you for the clarification. I appreciate that this is not necessarily the right place to reply, but in the circumstances I think it might be important for everyone to be able to read discussions about how the thread is shaped.
Firstly, can you explain what you mean by "retread"?
Can you confirm that this is done at Media Boy's request? In a previous post he said he didn't " know or care".
Since every thread like this descends in to chat, and previous chat threads aimed at taking the chat away from this thread have been quickly shut down by mods, is it not time to simply rename it "coming soon and related discussion"? That way there can be no suggestion that what people want to write here is off topic, and people know fully what to expect from the title.

Andy, with the greatest of respect to you, we're not a government department ... we don't have to confirm (or, indeed, deny) anything. We are answerable to each other and to the site owners via the team forum.
By "retread", Maggy simply means close one and open another one. Sometimes, vast threads with hundreds of pages are daunting for less experienced forum users.

It is NOT Mediaboy's thread. A topic of discussion can be started by anyone. As I am still a poster on this forum I too can start a thread.
FYI I started it this year as MB wasn't around and 2014 had already started. This thread tends to descend into a total farce with hundreds of OT posts that contribute nothing and I was simply reminding others that its better to stick to the topic as many other users often complain that its always drifts off.
So its not MB's topic at all. In fact I remember starting a couple of them in the past.
As another mod stated no own owns a topic.

No, you don't have to. But if everything is above board I can't see why you wouldn't be prepared to - it isn't unreasonable to call in to question the veracity of a statement made about Media Boy which appears to have been contradicted by Media Boy himself.

Thank you for the clarification. Since, by your own admission, this IS a discussion thread, can consideration be given to my suggestion that a subtle change is made to the name in order to reflect this and prevent confusion.

Re: Coming soon to Virgin TV 2014
A simple solution to the "problem" of this thread and one already mentioned is to have a closed, stickied thread that can be updated with news and rumours as they happen, but no discussion. It's what we used to have and it worked well. But it means someone has to keep updating it.
And....(gulp) might regret this.... I am happy to undertake such a task if no other volunteer (victim) is available.

And that would be totally boring IMHO; it's the discussion that makes this thread so good!

The discussion, this thread would be unaffected. It would just mean having a new closed thread where all the info can be kept in a neat and tidy way.

Re: Coming soon to Virgin TV 2014
An honourable offer but I don't think it's needed.
I think we establish no one has issues with the rumours, the actual thread itself and the chit chat around it it's seems the "marmite" issue is media boy weekly statement of current affairs in the world of cable which is provided unabridged that people are suggesting needs either removing/tweaking,evolving or left as it is to satisfy this thread
If this weekly changes was to placed in a topic on its own and updated weekly then people can choose to view or avoid it if media boy doesn't wish to change the format (which is his prerogative and the moderators choosing) like the confirmed changes then I think this could satisfy everyone.
That way it's not entered on this thread, media boy doesn't need to change the format and still gets to update weekly or at a time he wishes and those who want to can view/avoid it

Re: Coming soon to Virgin TV 2014
Well technically the changelog is there to acknowledge and addition and removal of channels and services on VM.
Most of the time channels only get revealed just before they are added so really there isn't much need for a Coming Soon thread. As by the time its announced its normally only a few days away.
This thread ends up as just chit chat and wild speculation.

Isn't that why most people read the thread or am I alone in that?
