Re: Web safe - worth using?

I will opt in mainly because my teenager uses several devices iPad, iPhone, & a desktop PC, the PC is easy to parentally protect & years ago I would have said you have to go looking for inappropriate material but recently that's no longer the case - One link can take you to highly explicit material that as far as I'm concerned I want to protect my child from & friends at least while they are here, when she moves out as my other three children did it will no longer be an issue.

Re: Web safe - worth using?

At home we use OpenDNS at the router to help do some filtering, we don't block a lot and the filters can sometimes seem a little odd in default. Also the kids don't have their own devices and don't have root (Linux) on the ones they do use otherwise I guess they could use their own DNS settings on the device to bypass this protection. (I personally am not going to fund their own devices other than possibly a Linux laptop that they will not have root access to.)
