Re: TV Anywhere Android App
Hi all
Does anyone know if VM have updated the app to stop it installing on unsupported devices?
I got a Kindle Fire HD for Christmas and download the app from the list earlier in this thread and it installed and worked perfectly.
However my 5 year old daughter managed to factory reset my Kindle while playing with it last week, and having gone to the same link and downloaded the file again, the Kindle says "can't open file" when I try to install it now?
Has anyone managed to do this recently, or if it's been protected, does anyone still have the old .apk they would be prepared to share?
Thanks in advance for any help
T

Hmmm weird,
Downloaded a file manager app as suggested on last page and managed to install it fine and its working perfectly again.
Definitely didn't have to use one last time, so I'm sure something has changed, however problem solved for now.
Thanks
T

Re: TV Anywhere Android App
Kitkat update for TV Anywhere has gone live today.
Had a quick look and it's not too bad and can confirm video streaming works on the Nexus 5 running 4.4.2 although I don't believe the device list has been updated yet on VM website.
I had a feeling VM were going to come through with the goods once the new wave of premium phones hit the market

Can also confirm it works on my Nexus 7 running 4.4.2

Though it still seems to remain in Portrait mode until streaming is selected then it goes to Landscape

I take it back i cannot work out how to watch things on my nexus 7 it just makes me watch everything on the tv. For some reason i was fascinated with the ability to pause live tv from my tablet which was right next to my actual remote control - genius!

Re: TV Anywhere Android App
Is yours stuck in portrait mode though unlike the images shown on Google play?
Only time it goes into landscape is when streaming is active.

Re: TV Anywhere Android App
Can anyone answer this? When i was playing with the app last night i wanted to watch certain things but it only gave me the option to watch them on the television. Is this correct or is there a setting i need to change? Or is it just selected channels you can watch live?

Apparently this by design on any tablet 7" and under, plus mobile phones

Yup, afraid so.
The channels that are able to be streamed have a little wifi logo next to them, or you can filter by these in the settings page.

Re: TV Anywhere Android App
Is it just me, or can't you watch any channels unless your TiVo box and your device is connected to the same network?

Re: TV Anywhere Android App
I've got a Asus HD Tab and it's not supported, despite it being on 4.2.something.
