Replacing Superhub
Hi.
I'm fed up with my Superhubs poor performance. Constant drop in signal and poor reception makes it very frustrating.
I'm reluctant to pay £50 for the SH2. Can anyone recommend a decent router to replace the SH?
Thanks

Re: Replacing Superhub
I use an Asus N66-U, it's a beast of a piece of kit but you'll not get much change from 3 figures. If you're just looking for good, solid wireless then you should be able to get a good Linksys router for half the price of the Asus.

Phone retentions and put your notice in. The sh2 in my opinion is fantastic.

Was offered the SH2 for £20 self installation by Virgin via email. When i phoned to purchase it I was told £50 with installation. Retentions wouldn't/couldn't help.

Call their bluff. Hand in your notice. You can cancel your cancellation if you get nowhere

Someone's at VM is telling porkies. I got my SH2 AND Tivo for a combined £20, didn't even have to speak to retentions either

It's probably less that they're telling porkies and more that someone hasn't been trained correctly. It's a roulette who you get through to and what they can do.
If the guy is in contract, then retentions won't do a thing because they simply don't have to. They'll tell him that if he wants to leave, he has to break contract and pay the rest up - that'll be enough to stop him.

Re: Replacing Superhub
Yeah, at least if you buy your own router it becomes your property and you can do whatever you want with it, including keeping it if/when you leave VM.

Re: Replacing Superhub
Virgin really needs to step their game up in regards to people selling property which does not actually belong to to them in regards to Ebay having hundreds of Virgin Boxes Modems, etc...
Even have people selling Superhub 2's now!
