Superhub 2 wired connection issue?

I recently upgraded to my Superhub 2, and i seem to have an inherent issue with my wired connection to my internet. If i wake my PC up from sleep mode or reset/power down upon loading back into Windows i don't have an internet connection.

I have to power down my Superhub 2 and thenit strangely connects to Windows without any extra effort, i'm just very confused why this is occuring.

My Superhub 2 is still active because my wireless connections (On my laptop and tablet, mobile) remain working. The original Superhub didn't have these issues when i had it which is why i'm suddenly very confused.

I think this might be more of a Windows 7 issues than Superhub, but i don't know really. When i have internet issues, in my Network and Sharing Centre my computer is part of a Public workgroup, but i have my own Home workgroup. When my Superhub is reset then i go automatically into my Home workgroup.

I haven't really gone in depth with settings in the Superhub but i can't imagine what would be the setting to look at?

Superhub 2
Windows 7
Wired connection

Re: Superhub 2 wired connection issue?

I've not encountered that issue at all myself and I have a superhub 2 with Windows 7. It sounds like it could well be a weird power saving glitch on the PC itself though - have you tried updating your NIC drivers?

Indeed. Check also that there's no 'green ethernet' power saving enabled, as I've seen this mess up for people a fair few times. Also do you have a VPN which might interfere (eg a with a killswitch)? Ensure your adapter is set to DHCP and not a static IP, it could be that the SH2 is seeing the NIC come back online but thinking its local IP is already taken in the DHCP table, and thus refusing it until you reboot.

Re: Superhub 2 wired connection issue?

I noticed yesterday that in my Superhub 2 i have two network cables, one for my computer and one which connects to one of those internet plugs. I recently noticed that the engineer who installed my Superhub put the computer cable into the second slot which was always flashing amber.

Then in the first my internet plug was on constant green. Switched them over and so far so good, think it's sorted it now!

What do you mean by "one of those internet plugs"? A homeplug? (something like this: http://uk.hardware.info/productinfo/...lug-85mbps-kit) or something else?

Perhaps it's just my (limited) experience as a network guy, but generally when something's plugged in, we presume it's for a reason until we're sure otherwise. Essentially what I'm asking is - what have you just unplugged?
