Timing doesn't seem to be wise. A win for cardiff and they will be on same points as swansea

Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window
Firing managers. Always the same solution.
I say it again. Look at Pardew at Newcastle (although that is again a bit iffy at the moment but not really his fault), Wenger at Arsenal, Rodgers at Liverpool, maybe Allardyce at West Ham now as well. You need to judge managers after a season that includes good and bad spells, hell I think you need more than a season but that might be too much to ask. Teams lose and they win, and they tend to do so in clusters as confidence and form ebb and flow. You can have bad seasons and good ones. Arsenal had some terrible ones but the players that Wenger persisted with have come good. Rodgers was in trouble last year but now Liverpool are after that 4th place and doing quite well at it.
You can't keep changing every time you hit that bad spell. You might get a boost but what do you do when the next bad spell comes? Fire the manager again? It's short-termism, it's expensive, and it doesn't allow the team to form and adjust to a certain style and confidence. It stops players developing as well as they as they get moved around, dropped and played at the whims of a succession of managers none of whom take the time to persist with promising but as yet unproven talent.
It's bloody stupid.

Exactly, which is why I think Moyes should be given at least 2 seasons before fans start demanding he be sacked. Fergie was given nearly 4 years to build his team up, so Moyes needs to be given a chance to mould his own team.

Yup but a lot of fans don't want to even give him the season. 20 years of success has left some of them, not all, spoilt IMO with unrealistic expectations of what supporting a football team is like. 6 months is no where near long enough for the job Moyes has been given.
Besides it's really funny for the rest of us.

Well he could be right. Just as he could be wrong. It could go one of the two ways.

Yes, but. Should de canio have got more time?
Or is it only certain managers? Mancini? (not for me)

Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window
To an extent though I can see the view of those fans. When United have been as dominant as they were, it is hard to see them struggle. I dare say that if Arsenal fail to win a trophy this year even the die hard fans will start calling for Wenger to go. Patience can only go so far, but patience is needed. A tricky one.

Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window
There have been rumours around here of this happening for ages. There's no denying the quality of the Swans' performance and results have not matched up to last season.
Problem is Michu - I can't see him sticking around now ML has gone and I'm pretty sure Chico will leave too.

l think they have been hamstrung this season in some respects as Michu being out and them being in the Europa league has not helped at all.

Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window
Scenario. Arsenal change their manager.
Rule comes out, no changes to managers for two years.
The manager chosen is a plonker.
Would Arsenal fans be happy with the rule, as it changed at wrong time for them?
Though on bright side, it would be funny

Or what? I am not talking about a new rule nor saying that managers shouldn't be fired. Just that it's done far too much and it's an unhealthy habit.

If I owned a club, I think i would want to choose when to sack a manager. I suspect that is the same for every club.

Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window
I had to walk home from the pub after the match last night. Was waiting for a bus but it never showed up. Nightmare...

Again. I didn't say ban it. I criticised the amount of sacking.
