As far as i'm aware from info i've been given VM are going to concentrate more on faster broadband and more on demand content and providers.

Some will be yes such as Lovefilm, but VM are also set to get major studios onboard for on demand content to be included in the XL pack. It's unknown yet who will get onboard but rumours are CW, CBS, NBC, ABC (pending Sky deal), Sothpark studios.

A lot of that content is already available on VM spread over 4oD , Demand 5 , Sky OD. ABC already have older boxsets available via Lovefilm , Sky , Netflix not sure about VM however they had loads of ABC content when I was last with them. What on earths this pending Sky deal you talk of ?

ABC OD is currently part of Sky OD now and isn't on VM anymore.

Aye this would be good. But i bet you anything sky will hear about it and bid for all this content and then create a channel called "sky lol" or something and not give VM access to it. Spiteful sky isnt it.

Thanks, but I didn't mean the method of delivery, I meant content wise! Is that different?
I do know that the online iplayer is different to the V+ version, so if the TiVo does not have it's own version and simply uses the same online version, content will obviously different.

Sky need to start making friends rather than enemies nowadays i think. BT Sport have already shown that Sky can be beaten and as far as i know Liberty Global are no small fish either.
It's going to be a very interesting 12 months i think.

Indeed BT Sports have shown that Sky can be taken on but what they have to watch is that they don't deploy some of Sky's nefarious underhand tactics and don't go the same way in the process.

Aye I agree but the people running sky may be too stupid, ignorant or spiteful to realise the rules are changing. There has always been just one way for sky to do things. Whether they can adjust will be interesting

I think we can say that BSkyB are anything but stupid or ignorant. They have a history of being ahead of the game and I suspect they will adapt to the changing market in a way that ensures profit margins remain as they are or increase, hopefully that change will see the consumer benefit greatly.

I agree; Sky may irritate VM users by withholding channels we want etc., but they are nobody's fool, and have innovated a lot of things TV wise.

I disagree, I don't think BT Sport has really scratched the surface for them,if it had they wouldn't of recently had a price rise. Sky have always been ahead of their game and when it looks like they are loosing they claw it back with something else. They've managed to create a channel which still has massive demand 3 years later, well that's worked well.
