Know how you feel - just lost my V+ HD box with almost 100% on it - hopefully most of it will be repeated at some time.

More chance of jimmy Saville being proved innocent im afraid got home last night and all lights were on turned power off and got a loud clicking noise so hard drive as died had it since before launch so cant really complain and the good news they are coming out 2nyt, just what I have losted I am gutted about.are the 1tb box made by Samsung now ? Are they just as good or better? Daughter as 500mb 1 seems faster

As I have said on many occasions, joining a platform is not free to the broadcaster. FTA via Freeview & Satellite provides the most population coverage for the amount they are paying out.

Ah the dreaded hard drive epic fail. We've all been there
excellent news about the quick call out tho! i usually wait about a week whenever i need an engineer! not heard of the samsung machines but i'd imagine so

I got the 500gb box by Samsung mate and it works flawlessly never had a problem with it.

I don't think it's in Freesat's gift to block the channels from Virgin - Freesat don't own them.

Exactly. Freesat is simply an EPG for all channels that are broadcasting FTA on DSAT.

Fair enough. I just assumed they would have some of the Sky owned channels which freeview don't have. I must do more research before posting.

Huge rumour. VM are looking at allowing on demand content to be downloaded directly to the TiVo box and stored on the harddrive similar to Skys OD service.
They will be keeping the instant on demand service but a option will be introduced to record it to the box.
