Re: Coming soon to Virgin TV 2014

Whilst I am in interested in a lot of sport I have never found anything of lasting interest on Premier, so I won't be shelling out money for it.

Re: Coming soon to Virgin TV 2014

Was never going to subscribe to Premier as have BT and Sky Sports but was very disappointed with the Rugby League coverage last year.

Free was what it was worth imo sadly....

Re: Coming soon to Virgin TV 2014

Morning all!

With Now Tv can someone tell me what sky are trying to accomplish? I'm guessing this is just for people who want freeview and sky sports etc?? Why are they trying to target these people with such cheap sky sports/movies prices?? 8.99 a month for movies then its 20 odd quid on virgin media??? 10 quid difference in prices. I don't see the logic from them?? Even sky customers must be scratching their heads and getting annoyed at the fact their television provider is giving better value for money for casual tv viewers???

If i was with sky and paying 20 quid a month for sky sports, including my tv and broadband and paying a hefty bill to them each month and then saw giles the elderly man across the road paying 9 quid for the same service i'd be absolutely furious??

If you loved sports or movies so much you'd have subscribed to them years ago?? I fail to see the target audience here except for winding up and frustrating current customers??

I may be completely bonkers and missing the point though.

MB- any interesting info or gossip for me??

Re: Coming soon to Virgin TV 2014

It's not the same service - Sky Sports on Now TV is £9.99 a day

For Sky Movies I suppose that's part of the experiment - Sky Movies on TV is regulated, but Sky Movies via Now TV probably isn't, allowing Sky to undercut itself.

Agreed, it gives Sky a way of seeing if there is a lot more demand at a lower price without cutting its Movies prices for everyone and then finding it hard to raise its prices again. It's also a way of attracting people who like Netflix's model but don't want to subscribe to an entertainment pack. On the pricing front, the original price for Now Movies was £15.99 per month but Sky obviously decided this was too high and reduced it.

At least that clears that up now. it'll be interesting to see if they're going it alone or just pulling out of uk all together.

Re: Coming soon to Virgin TV 2014

I guess that makes the gap between Virgin and Sky '1 Channel closer'.

It states that they signed exclusive on demand library, do we think this would be under the "sky movies" label (and thus VM obtains access of on demand) or would they leave it under the "MGM" and dont have to provide access to Virgin?
